    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC - August 10, 2026 — The American Digital Infrastructure Coalition (ADIC) today announced its launch as a national, industry-supported organization focused on advancing responsible digital infrastructure development through public education, community engagement, industry collaboration and dialogue with policymakers and local leaders.

As investment in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other digital technologies accelerates, communities across the country are increasingly finding themselves at the center of decisions about the infrastructure required to support that growth.

Data centers, and the energy, fiber and supporting infrastructure behind them, are increasingly important to America's economy, national competitiveness and technological future. At the same time, proposed projects are generating important local conversations about energy, water, land use, economic development, jobs and their long-term impact on surrounding communities.

The American Digital Infrastructure Coalition was created to help bridge that divide.

"America has an extraordinary opportunity to lead the next generation of the digital economy, but how we build the infrastructure behind that economy matters," the Coalition said in a statement. "Communities deserve credible information, transparency and meaningful engagement. Industry must also listen, answer difficult questions and demonstrate how projects can be developed responsibly."

    Bringing Industry and Communities Together

ADIC will work at the intersection of industry, communities and public leadership to encourage informed conversations surrounding digital infrastructure development.

The Coalition's work will include public education campaigns, community conversations, educational digital and video content, earned-media outreach, research and fact-based resources, and engagement with local, state and federal policymakers.

ADIC will also encourage early dialogue among residents, developers, utilities, economic-development organizations and public officials in communities considering significant digital infrastructure projects.

Central to the Coalition's mission is the belief that concerns surrounding development should be addressed directly rather than dismissed.

Questions involving electricity demand, utility infrastructure, water consumption, noise, land use, tax incentives, employment and other community impacts are legitimate considerations, and the answers can vary significantly from project to project.

ADIC will advocate for proposed developments to be evaluated based on their actual design, technology, infrastructure requirements and community impact, rather than treating every data center project as identical.

"Responsible development doesn't mean telling communities that every project is right for them," the Coalition said. "It means putting credible information on the table, asking difficult questions and working toward development that strengthens communities while supporting America's long-term infrastructure needs."

    Building America's Digital Future

Digital infrastructure supports an expanding portion of modern American life, including artificial intelligence, healthcare, financial services, communications, cloud computing, commerce, advanced manufacturing and government services.

ADIC believes the United States must continue expanding this infrastructure to remain globally competitive while developing it in a way that recognizes the interests of the communities hosting it.

The Coalition is assembling a national membership representing organizations across the digital infrastructure ecosystem, including data center developers and operators, technology companies, energy and utility organizations, infrastructure providers, construction and engineering firms, investors and other stakeholders.

Founding Members and the Coalition's initial national and community initiatives will be announced separately.
